Somerset performance & Creative Arts photographer

I’m Adam — a South West–based photographer specialising in theatre, performance, and creative portraiture with a performer’s eye for detail and energy.

I’ve been involved in theatre since I was 14, starting with youth theatre and over 15 years, I’ve combined performing with photographing productions, slowly shifting my focus from acting to photography.

That said, I still regularly perform with 'From The Mud Cabaret' at the Front Room Theatre in Weston-super-Mare and share my performance poetry at events in Weston and Bristol.

FAQ

How do I book a session?

Just get in touch through my contact page with a few details about what you need — whether it’s a headshot, portrait session, or production shoot. From there, we’ll discuss ideas, confirm availability, and secure your date with a small deposit. Simple and straightforward.

Do you travel for photoshoots?

Yes! I’m based in Weston-super-Mare and regularly travel across the South West for shoots. I don’t currently drive, so I use public transport or lifts to get to locations — if you’re further afield, we can discuss travel time and any extra costs when booking.

How do you deliver and store the photos?

All images are delivered through Pixieset, where you can easily view, download, and order prints or albums. You’ll receive both high-resolution and web-size versions. Galleries stay online for at least six months, so you have plenty of time to download and share your favourites.

How long does it take to get our photos?

Turnaround times vary slightly depending on the project, but most galleries are ready within 1–2 weeks. Larger productions or events may take a little longer, and I’ll always keep you updated throughout the process.

Do you offer albums or prints?

Yes — all final images are delivered through Pixieset, an online gallery where you can easily view, download, and order professional-quality prints or albums. It’s simple to use and perfect for sharing your photos with others.

Can I use the photos for promotion or press?

Yes — all images come with permission for personal promotion, portfolios, and press use, as long as credit is given where possible (e.g. “Photo by ALeppard Photography”).

What’s your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

I understand things change, especially in the creative world. If you need to reschedule, just let me know as soon as possible — there’s no fee with at least 48 hours’ notice. Cancellations within 48 hours may incur a small charge to cover time and planning.

Can you photograph rehearsals or behind-the-scenes moments?

Absolutely. Rehearsals and behind-the-scenes photography are some of my favourite shoots — they capture the real process and energy that audiences never see. These can be booked as standalone sessions or added to a production package.

What should we wear for our session?

For headshots, keep it simple and authentic — choose outfits that reflect who you are and what you’d wear for an audition or meeting. Avoid bold patterns or logos that distract from your face, and bring a couple of options if you’d like some variety in tone or texture.

For creative portraits, you can lean more into your personality or the story you want to tell. Think textures, layers, or statement pieces that feel like you — something that adds character without feeling like a costume.

Whatever the shoot, the key is authenticity. You should feel comfortable, confident, and recognisably yourself.

Do you help with posing or direction?

Yes — I guide you through the session so you never feel awkward in front of the camera. Whether it’s a headshot or a creative portrait, I’ll help you find natural, relaxed poses that bring out your personality and confidence.

Do you retouch images?

Yes, but always naturally. I make subtle adjustments to lighting, colour, and skin tone while keeping texture and authenticity intact. My aim is for you to look like your best self, not an edited version.

Can I bring someone with me to the shoot?

Of course. You’re welcome to bring a friend, colleague, or partner if it helps you feel more comfortable — especially for your first session. I just ask that they keep the atmosphere calm and supportive during the shoot.

What happens if the weather’s bad for outdoor shoots?

We’ll keep an eye on the forecast leading up to your session. If the weather turns, we can reschedule at no extra cost or move to a covered location. Flexibility is key — I’ll always make sure we get great results.

Can you photograph my show outside Somerset?

Yes — I regularly travel across the South West and am happy to discuss projects further afield. I don’t currently drive, so travel is arranged via public transport or taxis, and any additional costs are agreed upon in advance.
